What this site does and doesn't do with your data.

The short version: Over Alaska has no accounts, collects no personal information, runs no ads and sells nothing. It leans on a handful of third-party services for fonts and privacy-friendly analytics, and that's it.
What isn't collected
- No personal information is collected or stored
- No accounts, no registration, no login
- No tracking across other websites
- No data sold or shared with third parties
What is collected automatically
- Page views. Umami Analytics counts visits and page views. It's privacy-focused and GDPR-compliant, and records no personal data.
- Server logs. Standard web server entries — IP address, browser type, pages requested — kept briefly for security and troubleshooting, then rotated out.
Cookies
- Consent cookie. One cookie remembers that you dismissed the privacy notice, so it doesn't reappear on every page.
Third-party services
These services are contacted by your browser when a page loads, and may set cookies of their own:
- Google Fonts — serves the two typefaces used on the site.
- Cloudflare — sits in front of the site for security and performance.
- Umami Analytics — page view counts, no personal data.
- jsDelivr — delivers the cookie consent banner.
Where the flight data comes from
Everything on the front page is decoded from public 1090 MHz ADS-B transmissions picked up by a receiver in Anchorage. Aircraft broadcast it themselves, in the clear, and the linked tools cover the same ground:
- Flight positions — ADS-B transmissions received locally
- ACARS and VDLM — public aircraft datalink messages
None of it comes from visitors to this site.
Your options
There's no personal data held here to request or delete. You can still:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser
- Use an ad or script blocker — the site works fine without the analytics script
- Get in touch with questions about any of this

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top.
